November 3rd 2006 - Terry W. Smith of Peru's Rock Hollow GC joins those so honored, including John K. David, Boyd Hovde, Kent Frandsen, Jerry Nelson and Cookie English as a Clifford E. Wagoner Award recipient.
Smith has worked tirelessly to promote golf through his service as a volunteer for the Indiana Golf Foundation, IGA Board of Directors and having Rock Hollow serve as a tournament host facility for numerous golf events.
Terry W. is currently serving as Second Vice-President on the IGA Board of Directors.
In 2006 Rock Hollow in Peru hosted the Diet Pepsi Tour Championship, the IGA Four Ball Championship and the PGA Pro-Am. Terry W. welcomes all players with equal charm.
But what is most impressive about Terry W. is his never-ending sense of good humor while doing a very difficult and often thankless job, that of encouraging Indiana’s golfers to compete in the IGA and PGA championships.
Todd Smith, Indiana Golf Hall of Fame member, multiple Indiana PGA Player of the Year and Indiana PGA Profeassional of the Year accepted the award for Terry W. at the dinner presentation on November 2, 2006. Todd summed up Terry's accomplishments with these simple, but meaningful words, "I would give anything to grow up and be like my Dad."
Congratulations Terry, and best wishes on a speedy return to the game you represent so well.
