The 2007 U.S. Senior Team Challenge Championship was held at The Tournament Club of Iowa in Polk City, IA. Weather conditions very perfect for the entire tournament. The course was in outstanding conditions with greens running at about 10.
Teams from 26 states competed in 54 holes of competition.
The first two days were scored by taking the 3 best scores out of each 4 man team. The third day was scored using the best 3 balls per hole from each 4 man team.
Indiana was crowned champions with a score of 648. Indiana and New York tied after 54 holes then Indiana won the playoff on the first play-off hole with 2 pars and a birdie to New York's 3 pars.
There was an Individual medal play for the first 36 holes for all team members. Tim Miller from Kokomo was the medalist with a 1-under par total of 141.
Members of the winning Indiana team included Miller, Ron Carter from Monticello, Ted Smith from Wilkinson and Jim Anthony from Franklin. The U.S. SENIOR CHALLENGE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP is held annually in June,with one 4 Man Team from each State chosen by the State Captain. Indiana team members were chosen by Indiana Team Captain, Jerry Jackson.
